Firm history
We trace our roots to Robert Besse's decision to choose law over teaching
school in the early 1900's. His son Kennard would join him, and both would enjoy
long and distinguished careers. L. Vernon Frye joined the firm in 1948 and attained
senior counselor status before retiring. William E. Arnold was the next to join the
firm and served his clients until his retirement in 1995. Terrance D. Brooks was a
member of the firm until his part-time passion for writing became his full-time
occupation as a result of his best-selling fantasy fiction books. Current firm
members are John E. Miller, since 1974, Michael A. Lancaster, since 1981, Kelli D. Walker, since 1995, and Theron W. Burall since 2003.
